NNM Shariff is the Head of Islamic Astronomy and Solar Astrophysics (IASA) Research Group (RG) – this website! She also a senior lecturer at Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies, Shah Alam. She obtained her first degree from Academy of Islamic Studies majoring in Islamic Astronomy. Then she furthered her Master and PhD at Faculty of Science.
Previously, she was once a tutor at Department of Fiqh & Usul (Academy of Islamic Studies, UM) and a fellow at Department of Science & Technology Studies (Faculty of Science, UM). After finishing her studies, she works at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam in 2014.
Currently she holds several positions as a Research Management Unit (RMU) coordinator and Malaysian Research Assessment (MyRA) Liaison Officer. She is one of editorial board for Journal of Contemporary Islamic Studies (JCIS) and member of Malaysian Islamic Astronomy Society. She is an associate fellow at Institute of Science (IOS). Recently she just appointed as Junior Member at International Astronomical Union (IAU).

Mohd Paidi bin Norman is a lecture at Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies, UiTM Shah Alam. He obtained his bachelor and master degree from Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, majoring in Islamic Astronomy. Previously, he was once a part time lecturer at UiTM Cawangan Pahang. He is member of Persatuan Falak Selangor and also Persatuan Jurufalak Syarie (JUFAS).

Mohd Razlan bin Ahmad merupakan pensyarah di Akademi Pengajian Islam Kontemporari (ACIS). Beliau memulakan pengajian tinggi dengan mendapat Diploma Pengajian Islam (Syariah), KUSZA, Ijazah Sarjana Muda Fiqh & Fatwa (Dgn Kep.), USIM dan Sarjana Peradaban Islam (Astrofiqh & Kosmofiqh), UKM. Beliau juga memperolehi Sijil Tinggi Falak Syarie, ILIM, JAKIM. Selain daripada itu, beliau juga aktif dengan aktiviti falak dengan menyertai International Astronomical Center (IAC) sebagai Active Member, Persatuan Falak Syari Malaysia (PFSM) sebagai Exco (Ketua Unit Kembara Angkasa), Persatuan Ahli Falak Negeri Selangor (PAFNS) sebagai Timbalan Pengerusi (Daerah Sepang) dan Ahli Persatuan Peminat Falak Islam Perak. Beliau juga telah ditauliahkan sebagai Juru ukur kiblat bertauliah oleh Persatuan Falak Syari Malaysia (PFSM) dan Petugas Arah Kiblat Rumah (P.A.K.A.R), Persatuan Ahli Falak Negeri Selangor (PAFNS)

Dr. Mohd Asmadi Yakob adalah Pensyarah Kanan Akademi Pengajian Islam Kontemporari (ACIS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam. Berkelulusan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Usuluddin. Mendapat Ijazah Sarjana Usuluddin dan Ijazah Doktor Falsafah Usuluddin dalam bidang Tafsir Mawdu'i. Banyak menjalankan penyelidikan dalam bidang al-Quran dan al-Hadith serta bidang manuskrip Melayu dan kitab jawi. Beliau pernah menghasilkan buku-buku rujukan dalam bidang Al-Quran, Al-Hadith untuk peringkat STPM dan Universiti dan beberapa buah buku umum. Kini, beliau turut menyelia calon-calon pascasiswazah di peringkat sarjana dan kedoktoran. Beliau turut mengajar subjek pengajian al-Quran dan Al-Hadith di peringkat Diploma, Sarjana Muda dan Sarjana.

Dr Zety Sharizat Hamidi is currently a research fellow at Institute of Science, UITM, Malaysia. She focused in Solar Astrophysics research and other relevant astrophysics field at the School of Physics and Material Sciences, Faculty of Sciences, Univesiti Teknologi MARA, 40450, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. Also involve a project under the International Space Weather Initiative (ISWI) since 2010.

Fairuzah Hj. Basri adalah pensyarah kanan, Akademi Pengajian Islam Kontemporari (ACIS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor sejak tahun 1989 hingga kini. Beliau memperolehi ijazah Doktor Falsafah (PhD) dari Institut Alam dan Tamadun Melayu (ATMA, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) dalam jurusan persuratan manuskrip Melayu. Ijazah pertama beliau adalah dalam bidang Pengajian Islam, jurusan Usuluddin dan Falsafah, sementara ijazah sarjana adalah dalam bidang persuratan manuskrip Melayu dari university yang sama. Perkhidmatan di Uitm bermula di kampus cawangan Sarawak pada tahun 1989 dan kembali bertugas di UiTM Shah Alam pada tahun 1991. Beliau pernah bertugas di kampus Jalan Othman, Petaling Jaya, kampus Puncak Perdana dan Puncak Alam. Selain tugas pengajaran, Fairuzah juga mengetuai Pusat Kajian Manuskrip Alam Melayu (PUSKAM), ACIS, UiTM Shah Alam bermula pada tahun 2007 hingga 2010, 2015-2018, 2020 hingga kini. Fairuzah turut menjadi ahli kumpulan RIG, UiTM, antaranya Malay Manuscript Local Knowledge (MMLK) dan Islamic Astronomy and solar astrophysicc (IASA).

She is a Senior Lecturer at School of Physics and Materials Studies, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA. The field of her research interest involves electroactive polymer–based materials for energy storage devices, as the world looks to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels for energy. Her current research is devoted towards the next-generation batteries, that rely on the discovery and development of magnesium and lithium rechargeable batteries by using gel polymer electrolytes.

Dr Suraya Ahmad Kamil is currently a Senior Lecturer at School of Physics and Materials Studies, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA. She has research experience in the areas of optical materials, semiconductor materials, glass thin films, pulsed laser processing of materials, semiconductor devices and sol-gel processing. Her current focus is on the hybrid multilayer of rare-earth doped nanofiber/thin-film for photonics applications.

Nurul Hidayah Awang @ Ab Rahman as committee of Islamic Astronomy and Solar Astrophysics (IASA) Research Interest Group (RIG) - She also as lecturer at Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies, Kelantan. She obtained her first degree from Academy of Islamic Studies majoring in Islamic Astronomy at University of Malaya and holder Master in same course . she focused in Islamic Astronomy, title thesis master about “The life cycle of the stars: a comparative study between the interpretation of the Quran and scientific theory”, and the title of degree “Astronomical Photometry: Measurement Position Angle and Separation between Double Stars (Binary Stars). Previously she was once a tutor at department Fiqh and Usul (Lajnah Falak), Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya (2009-2013), she also lecturer in course Islamic Astronomy at Kolej Islam Sains Teknologi (KIST), kelantan (2013-2014) and a part time full time lecturer UiTM Sri Iskandar, Perak (2014-2015).

is a Lecturer at the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam. She obtained her Bachelor of Economics (BEc.) from Faculty of Economics and Administration, Universiti Malaya (UM), and Master of Economics (MEc.) majoring in Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance from Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She is currently at the final stage of her PhD in Islamic-based Development Management (majoring in Islamic Economics) at the Centre for Islamic Development Management Studies (ISDEV), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Her PhD thesis entitled “Natural Resources in Islamic-based Sustainable Development: A Case Study of Negara Brunei Darussalam” under the supervision of Dr. Wan Norhaniza Wan Hasan and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Syukri Salleh. During her PhD in 2017, she was appointed as a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Islamic Development Management Studies (FPPI), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Negara Brunei Darussalam. In UiTM, she has demonstrated various service and administration positions besides her role as a lecturer at the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (ACIS-UiTM). For instance, she was appointed as Coordinator Strategic and Transformation University, Secretary for Service Learning Malaysia – University for Society (SULAM), Resource Person for Islamic Financial Planning (IMU652), and Zakat and Taxation (IMU603) subjects, committee member of National Outcome Learning and Curriculum Development (NOBLE), committee member of Pemantau Professional Pensyarah (ProPENS), committee member of Corporate and Media Relation ACIS-UiTM and Advisor for Muamlat Intellectual Society (MIS). SNA Syed Zaiful Hamzah is a graduate student of Masters in Science (Physics) in MARA University of Technology (UiTM). Her research is in the field of astrophysics, focusing on solar astrophysics. Previously, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Physics with first class honours from the same university, and before that graduated from UiTM’s Centre of Foundation Studies after completing her Foundation in Sciences. Her passion for science, especially physics, has been deeply rooted since she was a little girl. She dreams of one day being able to answer the big questions pondering the universe. In addition to science, her interests also include religious studies and historical studies. When she is not studying, she enjoys travelling the world and learning about their different cultures. Sharifah has lived in different cities and countries when she was younger, but Kuala Lumpur is where she calls home now.

Anis Rossdee is a young physicist currently taking her masters in astrophysics at UiTM Shah Alam. Born in Sabah on the 4th February, she is willing to explore a wide variety of opportunities and strengthen her knowledge, she eventually graduated her studies as Bachelor in science (industrial physics). She spent her years enhancing her social skills by attending University Motivator Competition and learned how to do research by attending her internship at University Malaysia Terengganu. Anis lives life carefree but also stresses easily and enjoys the simple things in life like coffee & arts. She spends her pleasure time café hunting and deeply enjoys astronomy and travelling to unique places. To make the world become a nicer place, she tends to interact and make people smile on a regular basis.

NM Idris is a postgraduate student that is currently pursuing her Masters in Science (Physics) at MARA University of Technology (UiTM) in Shah Alam. She was born on the 2nd of March 1997 in Hull Yorkshire, England. She is an alumnus of MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) in Baling, Kedah, and SMK Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah during her high school years. Her interest in astronomy began since she was little as she was flabbergasted with the stars and the galaxies. The interest led her to complete her Foundation in Science at UiTM Puncak Alam and UiTM Dengkil as well as graduating with a Bachelor in Physics (Hons.) from UiTM Shah Alam. During her study, she became an intern at the Malaysian Nuclear Agency in Kajang, Selangor, and tutors Physics to high school students.

Nurul Izzah is currently enrolled as a first year student Master in Science (Physics), majoring in Solar Astrophysics in MARA Technology University (UiTM) Shah Alam, Selangor. Izzah graduated from UiTM Shah Alam with majors in Physics. Her Honors thesis in Physics examined Geomagnetic Disturbances and Solar Radio Bursts. During and following her undergraduate career, Izzah fulfilled roles in various professional fields, including joining the Physics Students Association where her roles were Executive Committee of Human Capital Development and Executive Committee of Academic. Like many other adult students, she is required to arrange and meet specific criteria so she can qualify to pursue her chosen career.

Izzah is currently writing her master thesis “Statistical Study of Physical Characteristics of Solar Flare and Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) Activities and Their Impact to Climate Changes”, where her main research is examine the properties such as their origin, acceleration, velocity, density, mass, occurrence rate, kinetic energy and angular width. Her dissertation research also explores the temporal and spatial relationship between solar flare and CME. Lastly, she is studying the impact to climate changes which are caused by total solar radiation (TSI) and cosmic rays (CR).

TNAT Affendi is a student that graduated in Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Physics in Universiti Teknologi MARA UiTM Shah Alam. Then, she continued her study as a Master’s student in the same University and chose Astrophysics as her field. She is capability in handling a lot of programmes whether it was academic or non-academic, since her position in Physics Association as a Deputy President in 2018/2019. She also had experience as a Secondary School Tutor in teaching Sciences Biology and Mathematics. By having an experience as a researcher in Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) during her Internship made her gain a lot of knowledge and experiences especially on how to develop a research skill during her Master’s study. Now, she is a researcher also a UiTM Postgraduate Teaching Assistant (UPTA).

W M A Ismail is currently a student of Master in Science (Physics) in MARA University of Technology (UiTM) in Shah Alam, Selangor. He was born in Terengganu and also grown-up in Terengganu, a state located on the east coast of Malaysia. He attended primary school at the Sultan Omar National School and continued his studies at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Science School located in Pahang. Throughout high school, he has shown interest in various fields including rugby and jump rope, however, he is more inclined towards rugby. Besides, while in form 4, he has shown a very deep interest in the subject of Physics. At the same time, astrophysics is his favorite sub –topic, and eventually, he graduated with a Bachelor in Science (Physics)(Hons). To this day, he is still studying in that field and aspires to be a successful Astrophysicist and later on, in the future, he hopes that he can contribute his idea and energy to the community.

Nur Hidayah Zainol obtained Bachelor of Science in Physics (Hons.) in 2015 from Universiti Teknologi MARA. Currently she is working on her Msc of Physics in Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam. Her related field was in astrophysics specifically on solar radio burst.

Siti Nur Umairah Sabri obtained her Master of Science (Physics) in 2019 and Bachelor of Science (Physics) in 2015 from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM Shah Alam). She is currently studying the effect of magnetic properties of active region and its contribution to solar radio burst structure toward solar cycle 25 for her PhD. She has conducted a research on magnetic classification of sunspot and solar radio burst type IV. Her research interest is in solar astrophysics, astronomy and physics.

Syazwan is a person who likes to contribute skill and expertise into the success of a team. Syazwan's particular interest is on Islamic Astronomy, Light Pollution, Sustainability and Halal Industry Study. Has published 21 Articles so far, with latest articles entitled The Risk of Light Pollution on Sustainability, published in ASM Journal Science. Syazwan is currently undergoing Master Research on the Authentication Algorithm for the New Moon Visibility Report.

I am Nurulhazwani Husien, alumni of UiTM Shah Alam. I am a physics student who is very interested in the astrophysics field. I finished my master's with the title project of “ The Investigation of Solar Radio Bursts Type III Accompanied by Type II Associated with Solar Activities Due to Magnetic Reconnection “. For my current project, I am a teacher at a private school. However I am still searching for the opportunity to further my study at PhD level in the same field.

Nur Amira Mohd Norsham is currently a master's student in UiTM Shah Alam, Malaysia. She is interested in Radio Astronomy, Solar Physics and general Astronomy. Her studies mainly focus on the solar flares of the Sun in multi-wavelength regions

Nurain Mohamad Ansor is a Master student at Faculty of Applied Sciences, UiTM. Previously, she obtained her first degree in Physics in
2018 at the same institution. She currently conducts research specifically on morphology of Sun's active regions and its effect on geomagnetic storms. So far, she has presented 6 research papers at various conferences/symposiums/seminars and one of them has been published. Her research interest is in solar astrophysics and other related topics.

Nurul Fathin Ngadiman obtained a Bachelor of Shariah (Islamic Astronomy) (Hons.) in 2018 from University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. Her degree’s project is about atmospheric extinction and night sky brightness at Langkawi National Observatory using the photometry technique. She is currently pursuing her MA in Contemporary Islamic Studies besides being Islamic Astronomy & Solar Astrophysics research assistant at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Malaysia, and working on Isha and Subh Light Curve Profile research. Her research interest is on Islamic astronomy, astronomy education and other related topics.

My name is Farah Nabila binti Rizal Al-Muhammady, currently a third year student of Bachelor of Sciences (Hons) Physics in UiTM Shah Alam. My primary research interest mainly focuses on night sky brightness and Muslim night prayer times using the Sky Quality Meter device (SQM). My current final year project is about measurement of temperature stability and its effect toward light pollution.

My name is Nurul Yatisah Yunus (2017299504) from the Faculty of Applied Sciences. I’m a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Physics student. My final year research is about quantifying the light pollution concerning the twilight angle in rural area Kuala Lipis, Pahang. One of the reasons I’m interested in this research is because light pollution is one of the crucial pollutions that distribute a lot of negative impacts on the environment, astronomical, human and also animal but the least awareness among the society about this pollution. So this research has been done to educate society in reducing light pollution. The current location for this research has been done is at Kuala Lipis Pahang.
