A brief history of

Islamic Astronomy & Solar Astrophysics (IASA)

2014 – 2016

Co-operation between faculties.

As much as four (4) national grants were secured with one (1) self-funded grant.

April 2017

Establishment of IASA

May 2017

Scientific visit to NRIAG, Egypt.

Prelude to the MOU between and National Research Institute of Astronomy & Geophysics (NRIAG).

October 2017

Securing Internal Grants

One (1) Bestari + One (1) Lestari

Dec 2017

MoU between Uitm & NRIAG was sealed.

2018

Securing six (6) research grants.

Three (3) internal grants + one (1) national grant + one (1) private grant + one(1) goverment grant (co-PI)

Mar 2018

Setup for Malaysia’s first station for Globe at Night.

Globe at Night – Sky Brightness Monitoring Network is an initiative of International Astronomical Union (IAU) with the Hong Kong University (HKU). Followed by sciencetific visit in late June prior to the setup.

Apr – July 2018

Setup for equipment at six (6) stations.

Jan 2019

New addition to IASA.
